ENGLAND made a strong start to the new season of the World Sevens Series by finishing as bronze medal winners in Dubai.
A 19-17 win over Samoa took England to their third bronze finish in Dubai in the past four years, with South Africa running out victors over New Zealand, 15-0.
Although missing captain Tom Mitchell and Alex Davis in their squad, England were not notably hindered by their absence in their three-try victory over Samoa.
