RFU face grassroots revolt over cash cuts

THE RFU are facing a grassroots revolt over plans to slash their Community Rugby budget.
In a letter to clubs, seen by The Rugby Paper, the RFU have laid out their intention to reduce Community game spending from £38m to under £30m in 2019/20.
Funding to most Constituent Bodies will be cut by between 10 per cent and 18 per cent, match official funding at levels three to five will be slashed by 35 per cent and travel funding will be cut by a third – from £1.55m in 2018/19 to £1.05m in the next financial year.
