Stubbs on his toes with one eye on the foot of the ladder

LEICESTER Lions scrum-half James Stubbs stresses his young side must learn the hard way how to close out matches if they are to pull away from the National League 1 relegation fight.
The Lions sat 12th after 10 rounds, with only two wins, but Stubbs, 27, insists the performances have steadily improved despite results not yet reflecting their progress.
Stubbs’ side’s main shortcomings have been late-game lapses that have turned strong positions into narrow defeats.
