Steve Borthwick is on a mission to make England the world’s fittest rugby team after thinking they were not fit for purpose at the start of his reign.

Back in 2023 in Dublin, after a 29-16 defeat to Ireland which ended Borthwick’s first Six Nations as head coach, the former second row declared his players were not in good enough condition for Test rugby.
That has all changed in the last 12 months since England could not score in the last quarter of games, now they are finishing them like a train.
