TV deals don’t look so good for Prem

I WAS struck recently by some authoritative-looking data on social media about comparative TV deals between Prem Rugby and the Top 14. I would add the caveat that we don’t always get the full details of such financial arrangements but those I saw looked pretty ballpark.
If we track back to the 2013-14 season – when Northampton Saints were the champions, beating Saracens in the final and Worcester lost out to Newcastle in a season-long relegation battle – the reported deal with Prem Rugby was worth £45m per season compared with £32m in the Top 14.
