Earl, a five-handicapper, joined up with Marcus Smith and Jamie George at the recent Pro-Am at the PGA Championship at Wentworth alongside former Open Champions Shane Lowry.
Just over two weeks later, Irishman Lowry was sinking the putt that retained the Ryder Cup for Europe against USA at Bethpage at the end of a fractious three days.
