Dragons chairman David Wright has urged the Welsh Rugby Union to rethink plans to overhaul the Welsh regions next season.

The WRU is in the first week of a consultation process for its plan to change the face of the game in Wales, with their ‘optimal system’ being reducing the number of professional sides from four – Cardiff, Dragons, Ospreys and Scarlets – to two.
The new models would involve the WRU funding all rugby operations, with private investors responsible for commercial operations.
