I had to smile recently when reading that World Rugby had quickly stepped in to ensure that the teams from New Zealand and Australia travelled business class to the Women’s World Cup which got under way in Sunderland on Friday night.

All 16 competing teams are being housed in quality hotels, the tournament will be played in an array of top rugby and football grounds across the land culminating in two semi-finals at Ashton Gate and both medal matches at Twickenham where a capacity 80,000 crowd is already guaranteed for the final regardless of whether England reach the final or not.
