Paul Deacon says he has left Sale a far better coach than when he joined – and reckons they are on course to win their first Premiership title since 2006.

The 46-year-old, right, spent the past 10 years as the Sharks’ attack coach but his contract was not renewed at the end of last season and Doncaster Knights boss Joe Ford was appointed as his successor.
Deacon recently rejoined Wigan Warriors, his hometown club who he served as a player and assistant coach prior to joining Sale, then under Steve Diamond, in 2015.
