While Henry Pollock is the talk of the town, and deservedly so following his meteoric rise and selection for the 2025 Lions tour to Australia, there are aspects of head coach Andy Farrell’s back row and lock selection which are puzzling.
The most obvious is that 20-year-old Northampton bolter Pollock – who this column argued England should pick before the start of the Six Nations – is one of five openside flankers in a six-man back row contingent.
