Joe Schmidt puts James O’Connor back in Wallaby reckoning

James O’Connor is in the frame to have a second crack playing flyhalf against the Lions.
Head coach Joe Schmidt, below, says his experience could prove useful in a squad of relatively young 10s.
O’Connor, who has 64 caps for Australia, turns 35 before the first Test in Brisbane in July. O’Connor left Queensland Reds to play for the Crusaders in Super Rugby Pacific and his good form has caught the attention of the Wallabies’ coach.
O’Connor played flyhalf for the Wallabies in the 2013 Lions series under Schmidt’s fellow New Zealander Robbie Deans.
