SOUTHEND showed true grit to twice come from behind and claim the Regional 2 Championship at Twickenham.
Southend took the lead inside three minutes through John Kenward before Northampton’s Jack Evans dived over to put his side in front after a breathtaking opening five minutes.
Southend retook the lead after Tom Sly spotted a gap but Northampton’s Bobby Bland showed great strength to go over to make it 14-10 in the 15th minute.
