Scarlets make van den Berg forwards coach

FORMER South Africa lock Albert van den Berg, 49, is the Scarlets new forwards coach, replacing Ben Franks who has returned to New Zealand.Van den Berg has been on the staff at Emir ates Lions since 2021. Former Ireland centre Jared Payne, 37, will be the backs and attack coach. Last season he was defence coach at Clermont Auvergne. Ulster’s Shane Carney will assist head coach Dwayne Peel as head of athletic performance.
