Champions: Leicestershire win last year’s trophy

THE Gill Burns Women’s County Championship returns today and while the men’s tournament seems to reduce in popularity each year, Leicestershire head coach Philippa Lewis believes the county game is vital for the continued growth of the sport.
Division 1 is split into two pools of four this season with Yorkshire, North Midlands, Leicestershire and Lancashire in Pool 1, and Surrey, Gloucestershire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire in Pool 2.
