John calls time after four decades on front line

AFTER an incredible 42 years at North Ribbleslade RFC, 57-year-old John Thwaite hung up his boots yesterday.
Thwaite has enjoyed the highs and endured the lows and says his final game against Northallerton was an emotional one.
He said: “If I think about giving it up too much I’ll start crying. It’s been a big part of mine and my family’s life.
“North Ribbleslade is a family club. It’s had its good years and bad years, but I’ve been there through them all. It’s a lovely little club that I love.”
