ENGLAND’S hopes of a Grand Slam were ended in Treviso after Italy beat the Red Roses for the first time.
The Red Roses are the most successful side in the tournament’s history, having won 55 of their 76 matches but they came unstuck against a dominant Italian defence.
England conceded six penalties at scrum time as Italy’s formidable front row proved too much for the visiting pack to deal with.
