Clubs’ dismay as RFU cancel lower leagues

BLACKHEATH coach James Shanahan was one of many lower league coaches who reacted with dismay to the RFU’s decision to cancel all rugby this season below the Championship.
Shanahan tweeted: “Really tough decision this. Worried it destroys the next generation of players who can play other sports without hassle. Non-League football can play and have crowds. This isn’t the RFU’s fault, it’s the government. Hope we can get adapted game being played ASAP like the women’s Premier 15s.”
