It’s official, RWC2019 was huge success

SO much water has flowed under the bridge in the last months that RWC2019 seems a lifetime ago so it was interesting to read a report by accountants Ernst and Young this week that confirms the impression that it was, despite typhoon and tempest, a major success.
Personally I didn’t think the strength in depth of the teams matched some previous World Cups -New Zealand, Australia and France were experiencing nonvintage years, Fiji and Georgia hadn’t kicked on and Samoa disappointed - but it was brilliantly organised, well supported and the ambience and spectacle was superb.
