Record man Varndell set for a final spin at Carnegie

YORKSHIRE CARNEGIE have held talks with Premiership Rugby’s record try-scorer Tom Varndell in a move that will inevitably court further controversy.
The club’s signing of Joe Ford last week, their first since undergoing a CVA, was condemned by disaffected former players who had their contracts cut short and were left with unpaid medical bills.
And with another wellknown player now in the frame to join the fly-half at Headingley, the voices of discontent in the game will only grow louder.
