Joe Rigby, star sub

JOE Rigby, a senior sub editor at Greenways Publishing, working across the Rugby and Cricket Papers, has died suddenly.
Editor in chief David Emery said: “Joe was a wonderful professional who helped us with his expertise, his advice and his almost encyclopaedic knowledge of sport, which he loved, particularly Surrey County Cricket and Arsenal.
“He was also one of the best headline writers in the business…and a true friend.”
Rigby started his career at the Kingston and Surbiton Borough News, later joining the Daily Express where he rose to assistant chief sub.
