Exile Laidlaw left playing catch-up

SCOTLAND scrum-half Greig Laidlaw knows he has some catching up to do to make his second World Cup having just joined the national team’s summer training camp this week.
As his Clermont side made the Top 14 final in France, the 33-year-old was given a couple of weeks off after the end of a long 2018/19 campaign.
That meant that the 71-cap general missed the first two weeks of Scotland’s preparations for the showpiece event in Japan in the autumn.
