Carnegie academy threatened by cut in budget

CARNEGIE’S famed academy is under threat following the news that swingeing cutbacks are necessary for the club to survive.
Carnegie’s one-time major investor, Jon Wright, has withdrawn his promise of a £3.3m budget for next season, for reasons yet to be made clear.
Next year’s budget is likely to be around a third of that figure, leading to question marks about whether the club can afford to operate an academy that has honed the talents of several internationals, such as Danny Care, and countless players who’ve enjoyed successful Premiership car...
