Healey still Six Nations’ fastest gun

THE fastest hat-trick of tries in the Six Nations, as recorded during the inaugural season almost 20 years ago, is still standing despite Jonny May’s knack of scoring within seconds of kick-off.
May’s hat-trick against France took 29 minutes, 20 minutes longer than Austin Healey required for his three at the Stadio Flaminio in 2000. Since then two players have gone close to delivering quicker hat-tricks in Rome.
