The RFU’s decision to introduce a new, 11- month season from 2019-20 is crazy, an affront to the proud tradition of the British & Irish Lions, and a move based purely on financial gain.
However, it is also one I think could have a hugely beneficial, if indirect, impact on the game in Wales, certainly moving forwards and towards the 2023 World Cup. But more of that later.
