Fitzgerald helps Scarlets down the Eagles

A returned to winning ways in the Celtic Cup with a 35-19 defeat of Eagles at Park.

Jonny Murphy's try put Connacht in front early on, converted by Conor Fitzgerald, but it wasn't long before Morgan Williams was over for the Scarlets.

Dan Jones converted. Fitzgerald was then over again for Connacht before Stuart Worrell touched down for a converted try to level it up 14-14.

Williams scored again after the break along with tries from Dafydd Hughes and Steff Hughes while Jones ended with five conversions.

Cian Huxford added a third try for Connacht.

A produced a grandstand finish but it was not enough to prevent a narrow 33-32 defeat by Aat the Arms Park.

Replacement forward Callum Bradbury and replacement backs Harri Millard and Dan Fish all grabbed tries in the last ten minutes of play. It was not enough to topple the unbeaten Irishmen.

The home side's other points came from a try by hooker Ethan Lewis, two penalties and a conversion from Steven Shingler and two conversions from Williams.

Munster A's points came from a penalty try, tries from Sean French, Keynan Knox and Alex McHenry.

' development side were given a harsh lesson by their A counterparts in Dublin as they crashed 53-7.

Richard Fussell's young side had found themselves at the summit of the Welsh group but were no match for the hosts.

A breakaway five-pointer from scrum-half Reuben Morgan-Williams, converted by Josh Thomas, was as good as it got for Ospreys.

Leinster were inspired by flanker Scott Penny's hat-trick with hooker Brain Byrne at the double while Jimmy O'Brien, Ronan Foley and Adam Byrne also dotted down.

Awere beaten 27-19 by A in Ballymena.

Deon Smith, George Gasson and James Benjamin got the Dragons' tries.
