Steve Diamond is still willing to discuss a potential rescue bid for Worcester Warriors if the Department for Media, Culture and Sport vetoes Atlas’s plans for the club.
It was announced last week that Atlas had pulled out of negotiations with the RFU and will merge with Stourbridge to form Sixways Rugby.
But it is understood that the DCMS or the RFU could torpedo the plan, and if that happens, Diamond and his consortium are willing to resume talks to buy the stricken club.
