A case of sour grapes? Jacky Lorenzetti, the owner of Racing 92 since 2006 as well as four Bordeaux wine chateaux, last week hit out at Owen Farrell after the former England captain’s stint in the Top 14 ended after one underwhelming season.
Racing spent £500,000 buying Farrell out of his contract with Saracens and got less than half the sum back when the outside-half returned to the StoneX Stadium at the start of the summer.
Farrell made 17 appearances for Racing with injuries plaguing his stay in Paris.
