Young Racing 92 fullback Max Spring earned careful praise from France head coach Fabien Galthie after a mixed performance on debut in the second Test against Japan last weekend.
The 21-year-old may have been defensively naive on his first start, but he did a fair bit well – his break on the hour mark worthy of mention as much as his positional innocence and that late misunderstanding with captain Charles Ollivon. If you want stats, he made 91 metres with ball in hand – the most of any player – and beat seven defenders.
