Marney retired at height of his powers

ONE of the more remarkable rugby figures to emerge from Presentation College was Father Marney Cunningham, one of two Irish rugby internationals who were priests as well, the other being Monsignor Tom Gavin.
Cunningham, the son of former Cork Constitution captain Jack, was a standout flanker at the school, winning Munster schools’ honours and culminating in a Munster cup title in 1951.
