Hansen reverts to his norm

STEVE Hansen’s switch of codes with Canterbury Bulldogs has raised some eyebrows in New Zealand, but judging by his last match in charge of the All Blacks – the World Cup semi-final against England, in which his side finished a distant second – it is the natural move.
There is no contest for the ball in the 13-man code. By leaving the jackalling flanker Sam Cane out of his starting line-up for the big game in Yokohama, he ensured there wasn’t one against Tom Curry and Sam Underhill, either.
