Rugby has two in running with William Hill

FORMER Plymouth Albion player Ben Mercer has made the long list for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year award for his No.1 bestseller Fringes.
Mercer, right, the older brother of former Bath captain Guy, also played for Cornish Pirates and Rouen, and the self-published book is the story of his career.
Catherine Spencer, right, also makes the list for her autobiography Mud, Maul, Mascara.
If either wins the award, it will be only the third time that a rugby book has won the award since it was created in 1989.
