All Blacks saved by mystery of JPR ‘try’

WHAT constitutes a rugby scandal or controversy can be very random as I discovered the other week when I watched a re-run of the Wales v New Zealand classic in 1972 because I wanted to check how good a player Keith Murdoch was. The answer was very good.
What really caught my eye, however - and I remember cursing at the TV all those years ago - was a stone-cold certain try by JPR Williams, left, which was disallowed about ten minutes from time with Wales losing 19-13. They eventually lost 19-16.
