Ritchie is a Lion in waiting for Townsend

GREGOR Townsend has backed emerging flanker Jamie Ritchie to force his way into the British and Irish Lions squad to tour South Africa next year.
The 18-cap Edinburgh back rower has excelled in the last two Six Nations campaigns, including a man-of-the-match display in Scotland’s most recent outing against France.
Ritchie, 23, broke his cheekbone before last year’s World Cup but joined the squad late to deliver two superb displays against Samoa and Japan.
