1. Advert breaks
Occasionally Channel 4 put on a really good movie – I’m a sucker for a good Rom- Com – but then they go and ruin it by having a load of advert breaks. Any suspense generated by a cliff hanger is lost as you disappear into the kitchen to put the kettle on.

TRP VERDICT: It’s time to put the tissues away and reach for a box set instead.
