CHARLIE POWELL

HOMEGROWN Bristol players have been thin on the ground in recent seasons but Charlie Powell is one who the club is pinning its hopes on to reverse that trend.
Educated at Bristol Grammar School, Powell excelled at cricket, athletics and football in his formative years before settling on rugby at Thornbury RFC, where he started out in the minis and progressed through the ranks before bursting on to Pat Lam’s Bristol radar.
Powell is still only 18, but so rapid was his progress that he was invited to train with Bristol’s first team last summer...
