AUSTRALIA’S dependence on players from the Pacific Islands has never been more pronounced. During the series against Ireland the Wallabies picked from a squad numbering no fewer than 14 either born outside Australia or of South Sea heritage. Four are from Fiji – Samu Kerevi, Marika Koroibete, Tevita Kuridrani, Sefanaia Naivalu. Three from New Zealand of Samoan ancestry – Caleb Timu, Lukhan- Tui, Brandon Paenga-Amosa and two native Tongans – Silatolu Latu, Taniela Tupou.
