Mermoz told he can move by Deano

Off: Maxime Mermoz

NEWCASTLE FALCONS have told French centre Maxime Mermoz they will not be taking him up on the second year of his contract.
Mermoz joined the Falcons at the start of this season after a short spell with Leicester Tigers following five successful seasons in Toulon.
But a source has told Blindside that the second year of his contract was only an option and Dean Richards has decided not to take it up.
Mermoz is now likely to continue his career back home in France with most Premiership clubs appearing to be finished with their recruitment for next season.
