Tait’s tackle in running for best of the season

THE awards season isn’t far away and we need to initiate a ‘best tackle’ gong. Never in one season have I seen so many brilliant last ditch try-saving tackles.
The latest was Mat Tait’s phenomenal effort on Wasps flying machine Dan Robson for Leicester at Welford Road on Sunday. The genius on this occasion was that Tait instinctively knew he couldn’t ‘get’ to Robson until the final yard before the try line.
