Keith-Roach tribute to scrum guru who helped beat world

PHIL Keith-Roach, England’s 2003 World Cup-winning coach, will travel to Exeter on Tuesday to pay his respects to Tim Francis, the chief pioneer in scrum machine development.
Francis, who died last week, was responsible for designing the Powerhouse scrum machine which helped Martin Johnson’s England pack rule the world.
The machine that Francis developed when he and Keith-Roach coached at Dulwich College has stood the test of time because it mirrored the physical demands of opposed scrummaging.
