In my youth I’d sit in the clubhouse of Walsall RFC and listen to all the stories of the firstteam players, all legends in my eyes, whether it be rough and tough ‘mad dog’ Steve King, Arnie Evans, Hamilton Jones or Ken and Steve Lewis.
The Welsh influence ran deep and the passion and pride they showed both for their country and rugby made me want to play there; I wanted to be in a place that was as nutty and in love with the game as I was.
