Ryan joins French sevens revolution

OLYMPIC gold medal coach Ben Ryan has joined the France sevens coaching team as a consultant. Ryan, who enjoyed terrific success with Fiji following a six-year stint at the RFU, has been brought on board by the FFR on an 18- month contract through to the end of the Sevens World Cup in San Francisco next year.
The 46-year-old hopes to help France become a leading force in men’s 7s and challenge at the World Cup, where they have so far failed to medal. He said: “From what I have seen, we have the potential to be a top four or five team.”
