World Rugby look silly over Sonny Bill appeal victory

THE disciplinary tangle that World Rugby has got itself into over Sonny Bill Williams appealing successfully against the matches that counted towards his month-long suspension for his dangerous shoulder charge on Lions winger Anthony Watson makes it look incompetent.
Williams’ participation in an All Black training run, with 40 minutes against Counties Manukau and another 40 against Taranaki, has been allowed, inexplicably, as a match by a World Rugby appeal committee, making a laughing stock of the whole process.
