Steve Borthwick watched England’s 12-match winning run hit the buffers – then insisted Henry Arundell’s red card was a bridge too far for his side.
England went down 31-20 to Scotland in Edinburgh in another Calcutta Cup collapse, meaning they have lost three on the spin in the Scottish capital and four out of the last five.
Wing Arundell was red-carded for two yellows – the first for killing the ball and the second, after 10 minutes in the bin, for taking out Kyle Steyn in the air just before half-time.
Those two incidents meant England were a man down for half an hour for nearly the firs...
