I think we have all watched enough rugby in the professional era to know that when a team goes down to 14 players early on in the game it can, in a strange way, be just as big a test for the team that keeps 15 players on the park.
When Charlie Ewels was rightly sent off after 82 seconds – admittedly particularly early in the game for such a dismissal – my mind straight away went back to just a few occasions when the shorthanded side somehow got away with the win.
