INDEPENDENCE from South Africa, in 1990, came a little too late for Namibia to make a splash at the World Cup. Less than 12 months later their golden generation headed up by their remarkable full-back Andre Stoop recorded series wins over Ireland and Italy, but it was too late to qualify for RWC1991 and so that opportunity was alas lost.
