TV viewing’s thirsty work

THEWorld Cup might be on free-to-air TV in the UK but Japanese fans have been forced to subscribe to see the action.
A voucher on J Sports for the entire tournament comes in around £80 but most supporters have been making use of local bars where pints range from between £5 and £10.
Even those prices don’t put punters off. The bar next to The Rugby Paper’s hotel had run out of its signature beer, Hub Ale, by the time we got back from last Saturday’s France v Argentina game.
