Maro Itoje set his sights on this summer’s Nations Championship declaring he is fitter than ever despite presiding over England’s Six Nations slump.

The skipper battled his way through the campaign following his late arrival at pre-tournament camp in Girona after attending the funeral of his mother, Florence, in Nigeria.
Itoje, who has sailed through the seemingly meaningless game limits in the last two seasons, also had a concussion hangover from last summer’s Lions tour and a lingering knee injury.
