FLYING wing Shalva Aptsiauri scored three tries to help Georgia defeat Canada 38-17 in Batumi, Georgia.
After conceding an early try, the 24th-ranked Canadians – who are in the fourth band for the World Cup Pool draw in December – held their own for the next 20 minutes but had trouble denting a resolute Georgia defence. Georgia, ranked 11 by World Rugby and in the second band for the RWC draw, began to dominate the scrum and the speedy backs took their chances to lead 17-3 at half-time.
