Fans are priced out of first Test

IT was not surprising that there were still spare seats for last night’s New Zealand v Lions Test opener at Eden Park with face value tickets for the match costing £266.
It was enough to persuade some Irish Lions fans, who had already forked out for international flights and accommodation, to pass up on watching the game live, and head for the big screen at the fanzone on the Auckland waterfront.
That’s some call to make after travelling thousands of miles around the globe to watch the series.
