Leeds Tykes were left to rue a slow start to the second half as they were defeated by northern rivals, and fellow strugglers, Mowden Park. The result pushing the hosts further towards a second relegation in three years.
Leeds opened the scoring through a Charlie Venables penalty after four minutes, just reward for a bright start. Park responded in style, taking less than seven minutes to cross for the first try of a tight encounter – Carl Guest touching down.
